What is WoMAC?
WoMAC
was created to serve as a source of networking for professional women from a diverse group of occupations and backgrounds in the Phoenix metropolitan area; promoting interest in Phoenix Art Museum for groups that are traditionally underrepresented at the Museum; and providing a mechanism for art education.

How many members does WoMAC have?
We currently have about 90 members between the ages of 25 and 55.

How do I become a member?
We hold two membership drives a year, but you may apply at anytime by simply filling out an application.

How do I get an application?
You can download one here.

What are the financial commitments?
Our dues are $75.00 per year. Our fiscal year runs from July 1st to June 30th. Annual Dues are due every July 1st.  Our monthly programs are included with membership; however, there may be a fee if our program includes a special exhibition.

How often does WoMAC meet?
We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm. Typically we meet at Phoenix Art Museum, but occasionally meet offsite at galleries or other locations of interest.  We also have committee meetings and the occasional optional field trips.

What is a typical monthly WoMAC meeting like?
Our topics are always related to art. We have special presentations, tours and activities, which include time for networking, wine and cheese.  The topics of our meetings have included What is Art?, European Art, The Art of Jewelry, Scary Art, Himalayan Art, Asian Art and the Art of Fashion, just to mention a few.

What are WoMAC's standing committees?
We have the following committees:

  • Programming and Education
  • Membership
  • Development
  • Fundraising and Events
  • Marketing and Public Relations

We encourage all of our members to serve on a committee. We also have ad hoc committees for elections, field trip planning and co-chairs for each special event.

Does WoMAC work with other Phoenix Art Museum support groups?
Yes, we've partnered with the Men's Art Council on VinArte, the Rembrandt tour, and partnered with the Arizona Costume Institute and Young Collectors on the Chanel Luncheon.
